All mycause group type event fundraising pages require a team captain, whose email address is associated with the fundraising page to receive important communications.
When creating your class fundraising pages for your school any-a-thon event, where students are listed with their own donate button, you may not want the team captain (normally the P&C president) to be shown on the page, to avoid confusing parents and other donors.
This is where the non-participating team captain (NPTC) feature is useful.
NPTCs are the team captain, meaning their email address is attached to the fundraising page, and they receive communications on behalf of the team, but they do not appear as a team member on the fundraising page, and cannot be selected by donors.
Using NPTCs in Fundraising Events
When you add your class fundraising pages using the 'add multiple fundraising pages' button, select 'group' as your type, and then 'link all pages to one email'. The toggle to make the entered email address the NPTC is on automatically.
Using NPTCs in Registration Events (not recommended)
If you have paid registration turned on for your event, and you are charging students to participate, you will need to create your class pages from the 'Manage registration' tab in the left-hand menu of your event dashboard.
Click the 'Bulk upload from CSV' button, then select 'group' as your type, and 'Bulk add registrations - link all pages to one email'
When you upload your CSV spreadsheet, the fundraising pages will be created with your one email address as the NPTC for each page.
NOTE: mycause does not recommend having paid registration for school events.
