mycause is Australia's #1 crowdfunding platform for causes, that is - Australian charities and personal causes and projects.
Sometimes that can be confusing and fundraisers believe they can collect money for a charity into their own bank account.
Unfortunately this is not allowed on mycause
You can fundraise for a registered Australian charity. We will collect the funds into the mycause trust account and disburse them to the charity. If you cannot find your charity listed please raise a help query below.
You can also fundraise for a personal cause - for a friend, family member or project. In this case, funds will go to your bank or the bank of your group/project.
But I want to hand the funds to the charity!
We understand that this can be important to you. Rest assured that the charity has been notified of your fundraising. They may contact you. If not please feel free to contact them!
Why is this the case?
When you collect funds for a charity you have compliance obligations in each State . mycause handles this for you.
In addition, mycause has a legal agreement with the charity to securely collect and disburse funds. In most cases, this means we are able to issue tax receipts to your donors.
We can all sleep at night knowing there is no leakage of funds to worry about.
Certificate of Appreciation
At the end of your fundraising campaign, you will receive a high-resolution colour PDF Certificate of Appreciation. Your charity beneficiary will be CC'ed on that email too.
