mycause uses the gateway Braintree a PayPal company, for secure checkout.
BRAINTREE
Braintree's advantages include its wide range of supported payment methods like credit cards, digital wallets, and PayPal, its robust security with Level 1 PCI DSS compliance and fraud tools, built-in features for recurring billing and international transactions, and its scalability to grow with your business.
As a PayPal-owned platform, it offers strong reliability and integrates with the broader PayPal ecosystem, making it a flexible and powerful choice for online businesses.
Bank fees for charities are 1.6% Visa & Mastercard and 2.5% AMEX.
You can accept Visa Card, Mastercard, American Express, PayPal, Google Pay, and ApplePay
STRIPE
You may alternatively attach your STRIPE account to your mycause account.
Do this in your mycause partner dashboard in Account/Fees.
Bank fees are the fees you have negotiated with Stripe.
Be sure to turn on Apple Pay in your Stripe account. Here is a guide
A NOTE ABOUT APPLE PAY
Apple Pay will only work on the mycause domain or a white label domain. Apple Pay will not work on widgets embedded into a third-party website (yours)
Our workaround for this is we create a whitelabel page or website for you being - support.yourdomain.org.au with your widget and any other images and text. The widget will include Apple Pay

YOUR PAYOUT AND FEES
To check or change your payout method, log in to your Partner Dashboard and navigate to 'Account' in the left hand menu, then select 'Fees'. You will see a card for 'Bank account' and a card for 'Stripe'.
The default selected option is Bank account, where mycause takes your payments through Braintree and sends them to your bank account in the first few working days of each month.
To provide mycause with your bank account details, please send the details on organisation letterhead to admin@mycause.com.au along with your entity code (three or four letters found under the organisation's name on the main Partner Dashboard.)
If you prefer to use Stripe as your payment gateway, select the orange circle on the 'Stripe' card, and make sure to click the 'Sign in with Stripe' button.
To see what fees you are paying on donations through mycause, scroll down in the Account/Fees screen. There you will see a card with your main platform fee percentage. Click 'Show all product fees' to open the full breakdown of what fees you are paying for each product.
Some of these products can have the fees reduced to 0% even if donors choose not to cover.
