There are two places you may see that an Email Status appears as Bounced; in your Donations & Transactions, and in your events.
Donations & Transactions
When viewing your Donations & Transactions in your Partner Dashboard, you will see a column titled 'Email status' which shows whether a transaction email is Delivered or Bounced.
As mycause automatically receipts your donors on your behalf, the system knows when the receipt email has been successfully delivered to your donor, or if the receipt email has 'Bounced' - meaning the email did NOT arrive in the donor's email inbox.
If a donor's email has Bounced, you can click the 'manage' button next to their transaction to see their phone number, which you can use to get in touch and ask for an updated email address.
Once you have the correct email address, you can;
- Click the 'Print receipt' button and manually email the PDF to the donor, and
- Contact mycause and provide us with the correct email address so we can fix it in our system.
Events
When viewing your participants under 'Manage registration' in any of your events, you will see a column titled 'Email status' which shows wether participants' emails have been Delivered, or have Bounced.
As mycause has an automatic communication cycle associated with each event, your fundraisers receive emails confirming they have signed up for your event, as well as others. The system knows whether an email has been delivered to your participant successfully, or if it has 'Bounced' - meaning the email did NOT arrive in the participant's email inbox.
If a participant's email has bounced, you can click the 'manage' button on the right to see more of their information, and if you have asked for phone number in your event Q+A, you can use that to get in touch with the participant and ask for their correct email address.
Once you have the correct email address you can click the 'Transfer registration' button and put the correct email address in the field that appears.
